JOHANNES MOLZAHN (1892-1965) Zeit-Taster the complete set of six etchings, 1921, on Van Gelder wove paper, each signed, dated, numbered 50 and inscribed with the plate number in pencil, with title and contents page, introductory text in German by Wilhelm Uhde, and justification, signed by the artist in pencil and the author in red crayon on the text and justification page, numbered 50 from the total edition of fifty, published as Mappe XII of the Ausgaben der Galerie Flechtheim , Berlin, all within the original cardboard folder with the title, the artist's cover design and publication details on the front, generally in very good condition Plate 180 x 124 mm. (and similar) Sheet 329 x 252 mm. (and similar) Folder 345 x 270 mm.

In September last year Christies in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Zeit-Taster by Johannes Molzahn. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,472.01), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Molzahn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musik in June 2012 with an auction result of EUR 154,800.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zeit-Taster von Johannes Molzahn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.472,01) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Molzahn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Musik im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 154.800,00.
