Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings and Drawings, which included the work The Battle of Lepanto, 1571, with crowded boats and men struggling to shore in the foreground by Johannes Lingelbach. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,970.00 (€ 10,361.84) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Lingelbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peasants Dancing The Tarantella Outside An Inn In A Hilly Italianate Landscape in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 116,470.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Battle of Lepanto, 1571, with crowded boats and men struggling to shore in the foreground von Johannes Lingelbach zur Versteigerung kam.
