Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2024 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work An Oriental talking to seamen awaiting a ferry by Johannes Lingelbach. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,523.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Lingelbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peasants Dancing The Tarantella Outside An Inn In A Hilly Italianate Landscape in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 116,470.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2024 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Oriental talking to seamen awaiting a ferry von Johannes Lingelbach zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.523,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Lingelbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peasants Dancing The Tarantella Outside An Inn In A Hilly Italianate Landscape im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 116.470,61).
