Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work A Mediterranean Port With An Elegant Couple, Travelers And Merchants Resting By The Quay by Johannes Lingelbach. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 46,322.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Lingelbach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peasants Dancing The Tarantella Outside An Inn In A Hilly Italianate Landscape, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 97,250.00 (€ 116,470.61).

Im Januar 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Mediterranean Port With An Elegant Couple, Travelers And Merchants Resting By The Quay von Johannes Lingelbach zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 46.322,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
