Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Southern Landscape With A Violinist Entertaining Revellers Outside A Tavern by Johannes Lingelbach was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 71,417.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Johannes Lingelbach have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2011 the work Peasants Dancing The Tarantella Outside An Inn In A Hilly Italianate Landscape was auctioned for GBP 97,250.00 (€ 116,470.61).
