In June 2017 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century & Modern Art, which included the work A cloudy sky on the river Amstel, Amsterdam by Johan Hendrik van Mastenbroek. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,500.00 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johan Hendrik van Mastenbroek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch 'Ijsvreugde Op Holland'S Vaarten' (Winter Fun On A Dutch Canal) in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 117,850.00.

Im Juni 2017 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A cloudy sky on the river Amstel, Amsterdam von Johan Hendrik van Mastenbroek zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.500,00 und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johan Hendrik van Mastenbroek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch 'Ijsvreugde Op Holland'S Vaarten' (Winter Fun On A Dutch Canal) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 117.850,00.
