Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Johan Hendrik van Mastenbroek could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism auction, the work Punters on the canals of Schiedam changed hands for EUR 3,500.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johan Hendrik van Mastenbroek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch 'Ijsvreugde Op Holland'S Vaarten' (Winter Fun On A Dutch Canal) in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 117,850.00.
