In February 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Public Defender, Downtown by Joe Reihsen. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,767.19) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joe Reihsen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Destruction probable but not guaranteed in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,917.94).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Public Defender, Downtown von Joe Reihsen zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.767,19) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joe Reihsen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Destruction probable but not guaranteed im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.917,94).
