Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Windy Inlet by Joe Jones. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,080.00 (€ 916.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joe Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cornfield in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 89,372.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Windy Inlet von Joe Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.080,00 (€ 916,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joe Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cornfield im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 89.372,37).
