Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Erotic: Passion & Desire, which included the work Jewelled Cup by Joe Descomps. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,708.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Joe Descomps have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2004 the work Femme Drappée was auctioned for EUR 22,705.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Erotic: Passion & Desire durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jewelled Cup von Joe Descomps zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.708,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Joe Descomps konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2004 die Arbeit Femme Drappée für EUR 22.705,00 versteigert.
