Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction The European Art Sale, which included the work Jardín De Los Adarves, Alhambra, Granada by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida. The price achieved of USD 352,800.00 (€ 289,322.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,603,912.82).

Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The European Art Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jardín De Los Adarves, Alhambra, Granada von Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 352.800,00 (€ 289.322,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.737.250,00 (€ 4.603.912,82).
