Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Souvenir Et Portraits D'Artistes; Lithographs Ii: One Plate; And Joan Miró Lithographs Iv: One Plate (M. 851, 1048, 1261) by Joan Miró was sold in the Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints auction at Sothebys in London in September 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,066.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Miró achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peinture (Étoile Bleue) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 23,561,250.00 (€ 29,174,436.97).
