Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work The Flight into Egypt by Joachim Wtewael. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 482,500.00 (€ 684,022.94), 21% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Joachim Wtewael have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mars and Venus Surprised by Vulcan in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,633,250.00 (€ 5,901,515.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Flight into Egypt von Joachim Wtewael zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 482.500,00 (€ 684.022,94) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joachim Wtewael auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mars and Venus Surprised by Vulcan im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.633.250,00 (€ 5.901.515,18).
