NOTE:
Jing Hengyi (1875-1938), also named Ziyuan, and Yiyuan in his later years, was a native of Shangyu in Zhejiang province. He excelled in calligraphy, painting, seal carving and classical literature. He was the Dean of the Zhejiang Provincial Number One Normal School and the Dean of the Ningbo Number Four Middle School. - The Chunfeng Caotang Collection owned by Master Yang Shanshen

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ink Bamboo by Jing Hengyi was sold in the Fine Modern Chinese Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. The price achieved of HKD 18,000.00 (€ 1,713.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jing Hengyi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in Running Script in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 184,000.00 (€ 17,113.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ink Bamboo von Jing Hengyi wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion Fine Modern Chinese Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 18.000,00 (€ 1.713,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jing Hengyi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 184.000,00 (€ 17.113,19).
