Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The Flower of the Death of Loneliness by Jimmie Durham. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,800.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jimmie Durham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Apache -Rg16 G-8-13”Sch40-Pvc-1120 Nsf-81-D-1785-260Ps1@73°F in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 168,176.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2008 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Flower of the Death of Loneliness von Jimmie Durham zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.800,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jimmie Durham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Apache -Rg16 G-8-13”Sch40-Pvc-1120 Nsf-81-D-1785-260Ps1@73°F im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 168.176,52).
