Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dr. Goldfoot and his Bikini Bombs by Jim Shaw was sold in the Contemporary Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,710.00 (€ 9,654.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr. Goldfoot And His Bikini Bombs in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 206,500.00 (€ 161,126.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dr. Goldfoot and his Bikini Bombs von Jim Shaw wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 9.654,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
