Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jim Hodges achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2021. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work UNTITLED (BROKEN) sold for USD 181,250.00 (€ 160,582.97) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Hodges achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work When We Stay in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,609,772.94).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jim Hodges erzielte im November 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit UNTITLED (BROKEN) für USD 181.250,00 (€ 160.582,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Hodges erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit When We Stay im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.609.772,94).
