Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work from the story of love by Jim Hodges was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 38,000.00 (€ 36,811.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Hodges achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work When We Stay in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,609,772.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit from the story of love von Jim Hodges im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 38.000,00 (€ 36.811,00) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Hodges erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit When We Stay im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.609.772,94).
