Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jim Campbell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October 2021. In the Photographs auction, the work Untitled (Grand Central Station 3) sold for USD 40,320.00 (€ 34,903.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jim Campbell; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Home Movie 300-2 sold at auction in September 2014 with the realized price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 59,391.83).
