Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work Mcdonald Boy by Jiang Shuo. The price achieved of USD 59,375.00 (€ 42,166.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jiang Shuo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Going Forward, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 152,093.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mcdonald Boy von Jiang Shuo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 59.375,00 (€ 42.166,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jiang Shuo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Going Forward beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 152.093,17) versteigert wurde.
