This artwork by Jeremiah Meyer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2018. In the Part I auction, the work Portrait Of Jane, Duchess Of Gordon (1748-1812), Née Maxwell, Circa 1775 sold for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,444.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jeremiah Meyer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of A Student In The Robes Of A Westminster Scholar sold at auction in April 2008 with the realized price of GBP 16,100.00 (€ 20,525.22).
