Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Study For The Traveller by Jeffrey Smart was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 126,000.00 (€ 75,345.06). Admittedly, works by Jeffrey Smart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian The Painted Factory, Tuscany in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 870,000.00 (€ 511,490.18).

Die Arbeit Australian Study For The Traveller von Jeffrey Smart kam im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 126.000,00 (€ 75.345,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jeffrey Smart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian The Painted Factory, Tuscany im August 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 870.000,00 (€ 511.490,18).
