In January 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Two young shepherds crossing a stream (i); A family fording a river with their animals (ii) by Jean Pillement. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,069.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Pillement achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A landscape with shepherds beneath an imaginary stone arch; A landscape with travelers beneath an old wooden bridge in May last year with an auction result of USD 132,300.00 (€ 123,287.67).

Im Januar 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two young shepherds crossing a stream (i); A family fording a river with their animals (ii) von Jean Pillement zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.069,52) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Pillement erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A landscape with shepherds beneath an imaginary stone arch; A landscape with travelers beneath an old wooden bridge im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 132.300,00 (€ 123.287,67).
