Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Part II, which included the work A shipwreck on a rocky coast during a storm; A shipwreck on a coast during a storm, a lighthouse beyond by Jean Pillement. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 24,919.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean Pillement have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A landscape with shepherds beneath an imaginary stone arch; A landscape with travelers beneath an old wooden bridge in May last year with an auction result of USD 132,300.00 (€ 123,287.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit A shipwreck on a rocky coast during a storm; A shipwreck on a coast during a storm, a lighthouse beyond von Jean Pillement zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 24.919,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Pillement auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A landscape with shepherds beneath an imaginary stone arch; A landscape with travelers beneath an old wooden bridge im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 132.300,00 (€ 123.287,67).
