Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Town & Country: A Private Collection, which included the work A wooded landscape with drovers and livestock; A rocky river landscape with figures and sheep by Jean Pillement. The price achieved of GBP 23,940.00 (€ 28,555.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean Pillement have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A landscape with shepherds beneath an imaginary stone arch; A landscape with travelers beneath an old wooden bridge in May last year with an auction result of USD 132,300.00 (€ 123,287.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Town & Country: A Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded landscape with drovers and livestock; A rocky river landscape with figures and sheep von Jean Pillement zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 28.555,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Pillement auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A landscape with shepherds beneath an imaginary stone arch; A landscape with travelers beneath an old wooden bridge im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 132.300,00 (€ 123.287,67).
