Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cariatide by Jean Metzinger was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in November this year. The price achieved of USD 113,400.00 (€ 103,960.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Metzinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Cycliste in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 3,015,000.00 (€ 3,494,391.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cariatide von Jean Metzinger kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 103.960,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Metzinger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Cycliste im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.015.000,00 (€ 3.494.391,84).
