Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait de la marquise de Clermont Gallerande by Jean-Marc Nattier was auctioned at Christies in Paris in September 2016. The price achieved of EUR 37,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Marc Nattier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Allegory Of Justice Combatting Injustice in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 866,500.00 (€ 990,127.28).
