A top price for Jean-Marc Nattier - as previously expected
In July 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work An Allegory Of Justice Combatting Injustice by Jean-Marc Nattier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 866,500.00 (€ 990,127.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, An Allegory Of Justice Combatting Injustice is the most expensive artwork by Jean-Marc Nattier that we have observed at auctions so far.
