Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Panorama Wireless by Jean-Marc Bustamante was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 6,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at EUR 31,250.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jean-Marc Bustamante; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot State of grace sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of EUR 40,320.00.
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Panorama Wireless von Jean-Marc Bustamante im Oktober 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 6.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 31.250,00 mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jean-Marc Bustamante; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit State of grace im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 40.320,00.
