Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Robert William Burke, which included the work Tête de paysan, de face by Jean-Léon Gérôme. It changed hands for a price of EUR 6,560.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Léon Gérôme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Riders Crossing The Desert in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,135,000.00 (€ 3,636,375.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Robert William Burke durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tête de paysan, de face von Jean-Léon Gérôme zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 6.560,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Léon Gérôme erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Riders Crossing The Desert im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.135.000,00 (€ 3.636.375,17).
