Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An Italianate Landscape With A View Of A Fortified Town by Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,166.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Augustan bridge on the Nera river, near the town of Narni, Italy in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 338,416.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An Italianate Landscape With A View Of A Fortified Town von Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.166,47) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Augustan bridge on the Nera river, near the town of Narni, Italy im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 441.600,00 (€ 338.416,74).
