Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View Of The Ravine At San Cosimato by Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,163.74). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Augustan bridge on the Nera river, near the town of Narni, Italy in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 338,416.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View Of The Ravine At San Cosimato von Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.163,74) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Augustan bridge on the Nera river, near the town of Narni, Italy im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 441.600,00 (€ 338.416,74).
