Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Still Life of Chestnut Flowers, Wallflowers, Roses and Pansies with a Tankard and a Silver Gilt Ostrich Egg Cup by Jean-Baptiste Robie was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,647.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Robie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses, anenomes and peonies, strawberries, a silver-gilt ostrich egg cup and a German gold-gilt tankard on a draped table, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 54,050.00 (€ 92,531.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Still Life of Chestnut Flowers, Wallflowers, Roses and Pansies with a Tankard and a Silver Gilt Ostrich Egg Cup von Jean-Baptiste Robie wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert.
