In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Food For Thought, which included the work Still Life With Fruit And Flowers by Jean-Baptiste Robie. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,397.32) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Robie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, anenomes and peonies, strawberries, a silver-gilt ostrich egg cup and a German gold-gilt tankard on a draped table in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 54,050.00 (€ 92,531.41).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Food For Thought durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit And Flowers von Jean-Baptiste Robie zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.397,32) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Robie erzielen.
