The result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,267.68) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Pillement - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A landscape with shepherds beneath an imaginary stone arch; A landscape with travelers beneath an old wooden bridge, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 132,300.00 (€ 123,287.67).
