Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work William Penn'S Wedding (A Wedding Procession, Stoke Poges Church) by Jasper Francis Cropsey. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 66,797.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jasper Francis Cropsey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indian Summer On The Susquehanna in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 432,500.00 (€ 384,923.46).

Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit William Penn'S Wedding (A Wedding Procession, Stoke Poges Church) von Jasper Francis Cropsey zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 66.797,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jasper Francis Cropsey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indian Summer On The Susquehanna im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 432.500,00 (€ 384.923,46).
