Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work The Abandoned Skiff by Jasper Francis Cropsey for USD 18,900.00 (€ 16,518.09). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century American & Western Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Francis Cropsey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indian Summer On The Susquehanna in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 432,500.00 (€ 384,923.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Abandoned Skiff von Jasper Francis Cropsey für USD 18.900,00 (€ 16.518,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century American & Western Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Francis Cropsey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indian Summer On The Susquehanna im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 432.500,00 (€ 384.923,46).
