Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Lake George 10 1/16 x 17 in. (25.6 x 43.2 cm.) by Jasper Francis Cropsey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,375.00 (€ 5,940.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Francis Cropsey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indian Summer On The Susquehanna in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 432,500.00 (€ 384,923.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lake George 10 1/16 x 17 in. (25.6 x 43.2 cm.) von Jasper Francis Cropsey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.375,00 (€ 5.940,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Francis Cropsey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indian Summer On The Susquehanna im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 432.500,00 (€ 384.923,46).
