In July last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Discoveries, which included the work Sunlight and Shadow, Venice by Jane Peterson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 44,100.00 (€ 43,226.82), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jane Peterson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gloucester Harbor--Late Afternoon in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 520,000.00 (€ 392,127.29).

Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunlight and Shadow, Venice von Jane Peterson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 43.226,82) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jane Peterson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gloucester Harbor--Late Afternoon im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 520.000,00 (€ 392.127,29).
