This artwork by Jane Peterson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September last year. In the American Works of Art auction, the work Harbor at Istanbul sold for USD 176,775.00 (€ 180,696.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jane Peterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gloucester Harbor--Late Afternoon, which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 520,000.00 (€ 392,127.29).
