In May 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work A Battle Scene With A Sieged Town Beyond by Jan Wyck. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 13,750.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Wyck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of Sprotborough Hall, Near Doncaster, Yorkshire, With Cattle And Herdsman On The Banks Of The River Don Before in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 70,238.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Battle Scene With A Sieged Town Beyond von Jan Wyck zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 13.750,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Wyck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View Of Sprotborough Hall, Near Doncaster, Yorkshire, With Cattle And Herdsman On The Banks Of The River Don Before im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.410,00 (€ 70.238,99).
