Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work River Landscape: Figures At A Ferry Landing Below A Ruined Bridge by Jan Wyck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,156.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Wyck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of Sprotborough Hall, Near Doncaster, Yorkshire, With Cattle And Herdsman On The Banks Of The River Don Before in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 70,238.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit River Landscape: Figures At A Ferry Landing Below A Ruined Bridge von Jan Wyck im Juli 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.156,04) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Wyck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View Of Sprotborough Hall, Near Doncaster, Yorkshire, With Cattle And Herdsman On The Banks Of The River Don Before im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.410,00 (€ 70.238,99).
