This artwork by Jan Wyck achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2016. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work Equestrian portrait of a commander, possibly James Butler, 2nd Duke of Ormande (1665-1745), at the Battle of the Boyne sold for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,920.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00.
