Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work A Final Afternoon by Jan Worst. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,143.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Worst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of the Ponte Rotto in Rome (recto); View of the Ponte dei Quattro Capi or Ponte Fabricio over the Tiber (verso) in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 86,400.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Final Afternoon von Jan Worst zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.143,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Worst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of the Ponte Rotto in Rome (recto); View of the Ponte dei Quattro Capi or Ponte Fabricio over the Tiber (verso) im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.500,00 (€ 86.400,04).
