In September 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations, which included the work Clown in the piste by Jan van Heel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,750.00 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van Heel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Clown, which sold at auction in December 2002 for EUR 16,730.00.

Im September 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clown in the piste von Jan van Heel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.750,00 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van Heel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Clown beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für EUR 16.730,00 versteigert wurde.
