Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Clown In Spiegel - Clown In Mirror by Jan van Heel was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van Heel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Clown in December 2002 with an auction result of EUR 16,730.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Clown In Spiegel - Clown In Mirror von Jan van Heel im März 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Heel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Clown im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 16.730,00.
