Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jan van der Zee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Amsterdam in May 2007. In the Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Dutch Composition sold for EUR 31,200.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan van der Zee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 sold at auction in December 2011 with the realized price of USD 52,500.00 (€ 40,468.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan van der Zee erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Dutch Composition für EUR 31.200,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jan van der Zee; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 im Dezember 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 40.468,67).
