The work Venus, With Cupid, Seated On Clouds by Jan van der Straet was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018. It achieved a price of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,416.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 72%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van der Straet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 241,250.00 (€ 297,528.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Venus, With Cupid, Seated On Clouds von Jan van der Straet kam im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.416,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 72%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Straet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 241.250,00 (€ 297.528,25).
