A top price for Jan van der Straet - as previously expected
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Including Three Renaissance Masterworks from Chatsworth, which included the work "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt by Jan van der Straet. The price achieved of GBP 241,250.00 (€ 297,528.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt is the most expensive artwork by Jan van der Straet that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Including Three Renaissance Masterworks from Chatsworth durch, in der auch die Arbeit "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt von Jan van der Straet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 241.250,00 (€ 297.528,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt das teuerste Kunstwerk von Jan van der Straet, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
