Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings including French Masterworks from the Dormeuil Collection, which included the work The People Of Judah Rejoicing Over The Oath To The Lord (2 Chron. 15:11-14) by Jan van der Straet. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,566.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van der Straet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 241,250.00 (€ 297,528.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings including French Masterworks from the Dormeuil Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The People Of Judah Rejoicing Over The Oath To The Lord (2 Chron. 15:11-14) von Jan van der Straet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.566,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Straet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Caccia All'Elefante"; An Extensive Landscape With An Elephant Hunt im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 241.250,00 (€ 297.528,25).
